“Lean Management” and the “Toyota Production System” are two concepts closely linked to each other. Both are cornerstones of lean production, ensuring transparent, stable, and cost-effective workflows as well as the most efficient production or process chain possible—without any waste.

For Gernot Schulte, this is more than just a simple task; it is his passion. He completed his master’s degree in Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering at the University of Paderborn, which he combined with a study abroad program (degree program: Industrial Engineering and Management) at Aalto University – School of Science in Espoo, Finland.

Leaving no room for waste

Gernot Schulte has already proven his commitment to eliminating waste during his time as plant manager at the Knapheide Group in Beckum, a highly specialized global player providing individual and modern turnkey solutions for highly complex hydraulic components. The company supplies renowned customers in the mechanical engineering, agricultural machinery, construction, and automotive industries.

As part of the strategic realignment of Knapheide Industrial Hose Technology, Gernot Schulte was responsible for comprehensive process optimization in collaboration with the ProGemma management consultancy. He also oversaw the implementation and transition to the multi-model database SAP HANA (High-performance Analytics Appliance).

With his practical expertise and strong commitment, he helps ProGemma’s clients in concept development, problem-solving process implementation, and the introduction of shop/office floor management as a leadership tool. He ensures its continuous improvement (flexible and agile) at a high level, securing business success through quick adaptation to future requirements, while simultaneously fostering the development of an efficient corporate culture. This approach can achieve performance improvements of over 30%.

Additionally, Gernot Schulte supports ProGemma’s clients in the setup of digital tools, such as the Allisa platform, an action-driven low-code/no-code software, and in system networking, allowing for the implementation of new, efficient work processes. As a project manager, he takes full responsibility for the success of the clients.
